“Teamwork allows common people to attain uncommon results. Some people want it to happen, some wish it to happen, others make it happen. Volunteers aren’t paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.”

As The Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center continues to grow, the demand for volunteers has increased greatly. The Dixie has expanded its offerings for daytime school performances, art exhibits, regular evening and weekend performances, and much more. Volunteers are utilized as ushers, greeters, ticket takers, museum guides, concession stand operators, mass mailing assistants, posting of posters, and in other areas as needed. In order to become a volunteer you must go through an annual training session typically in July. Our performance season runs from September to May and you will be given a list of shows that you sign up for. The Dixie holds an annual Volunteer Award and Luncheon where awards are presented to three outstanding volunteers.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to be placed on the potential volunteer list, call The Dixie’s Box Office at (731) 986-2100 or e-mail ademaris@dixiepac.net.
