Dixie Carter PAC and The Jackson Symphony Present “Jazzed for Summer” June 13
The Dixie and The Jackson Symphony are thrilled to announce their collaboration once again, bringing enchanting melodies to Huntingdon’s Court Square on Thursday, June 13, 2024. This year's event, aptly titled "Jazzed for Summer," promises an unforgettable evening of musical exploration and celebration.
Starting at 6:30 pm, audiences will embark on a mesmerizing journey through diverse musical landscapes, guided by the talented musicians of The Jackson Symphony. Renowned vocalist Alyssa Marshall will enchant listeners, accompanied by the masterful talents of saxophonist and woodwind virtuoso Doug Owens, keyboardist Keith Herris, drummer DJ Culp, and electric bassist Josh Dougan.
"We are thrilled to once again partner with The Jackson Symphony to present 'Jazzed for Summer' to our community," said Angela DeMaris, Executive Director of The Dixie Carter PAC. "This year promises to deliver another spectacular experience."
The event is made possible through the generous support of Mayor Howell Wayne Todd of Clarksburg and Dixie Advisory Board Member, Paula Atkins of Huntingdon, alongside the TN Arts Commission, ensuring that this cultural celebration remains free and accessible to all. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be moved indoors to The Dixie, ensuring that the show goes on without a hitch.
"We are grateful for the support of Mayor Todd, Miss Paula Atkins, the TN Arts Commission, and our community partners, whose commitment to the arts enriches the lives of all who call West Tennessee home," added DeMaris.
"Jazzed for Summer" is made possible, in part, by federal award number SLFRP5534, granted to the State of Tennessee by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
A food truck will be onsite to serve the community, and attendees are welcome to bring a lawn chair and are allowed to start setting up in front of the court house at 5p.
